Spontaneous City – Book Launch
The era of large-scale urban planning is over. With the book ‘The Spontaneous City’ (designed by onlab and edited by Partizan Publik) Urhahn Urban Design heralds another practice. Small-scale ‘make-ability’ combined with Dutch entrepreneurial skill: that is the basic principle. That is why the authors of this book argue in favour of local resourcefulness, flexibility, and openness – in short, they argue for the Spontaneous City.
The Spontaneous City is never finished
The Spontaneous City is about the user
The Spontaneous City is the result of supply and demand.

Community vs Communication
Workshop in Valdagno (Italy)
La comunicazione territoriale alle base della comunita' – onlab is invited by Fuoribiennale to a workshop heeded by Salottobuono in Valdagno (Italy).
Valdagno, small industrial town situated in the province of Vicenza (Veneto, Italy) has one of the most visionary adventures of Italian social and industrial history. Between 1927 and 1937, the social town, commissioned by the Marzotto family and planned by the architect Francesco Bonfanti, was built on the right bank of the river Agno. Between the two wars this created a humanscale town where the factory was integrated with daily life, society, and culture, given that, through a series of institutions, it provided complete coverage. It was a visionary model that included kindergartens, houses, orphanages, nursery schools, old peoples' homes, Olympic swimming pools, a 2000-seat theatre, technical institutes, music schools, an agricultural area, a recreational and sporting club and also summer and winter holiday leave.
Since a few years, the city is shrinking. Based on the expertise acquired through the project of the city of Tramelan, onlab is invited to discuss and rethink, in collaboration with Salottobuono and together with the municipality, the communication of the city of Valdagno.

Ménage à Trois
Projekt für Grafikdesign der Bauhaus Universität Weimar.
Vernissage, Café und Magazin-Verkauf.
Hotel Miranda, Marienstrasse 10, Weimar, Germany
Fr. 16. Juli 14 - 23 Uhr, Sa. 17. Juli 14 -18 Uhr
