The visual concept and imagery of Tramelan was regarded crucial to distinguish the image of Tramelan regionally, nationally and internationally from other villages. Photography was thus used as a main element in the visual communication. Hence a close collaboration with the young Swiss photographer Joël Tettamanti, who was born in the region.
Joël Tettamanti developed a specific language to portray the village. Under the creative direction of onlab, his work focused on the specific architectural character of the industrial and rural region and involved a series of portraits of its inhabitants. To enhance the idea of quality and simplicity, which are distinctive features of Tramelan, all pictures are kept in black and white.
Through the lens of this photographer a pictorial archive with strong visual language was created.
